Interview with Sierra, Blake, and Devin.

Fueled By Fans got up close and personal with the newly signed VersaEmerge's Sierra, Blake, and Devin to talk music and life on the road (as well as a few other fun things). Click the picture of the member whose interview you want to read!

What was your favorite part in making this EP?
Probably all the other sounds besides the basic drums and stuff, all the strings and orchestral elements and stuff, that's my favorite thing.

What's your favorite song to play live?
My favorite is either "Past Praying For" or….yeah probably "Past Praying For".

If you could have anyone cover one of your songs living or dead who would it be?
Oh, wow. Probably an instrumental Danny Elfman cover. Yeah, he scores movies.

What's the first band that introduced you to this music scene, if you can remember?
I used to, I mean the drummer and I had a blues band we're were into that and after that we got into playing heavier music, and then my transition from heavy to not so heavy I guess, Receiving End of Sirens played a real big part in that for me. They're definitely still one of my favorite bands.

How old were you when you first decided to get involved in music?
I got my first guitar when I was five; started taking lessons when I was 9 and then started playing guitar seriously when I was like 14.

What's it like being on tour and kind of growing up on the road?
It's crazy, you know up until this year we've been on the road for long periods of time but this is the time where it's like, alright we're gone for four months and it's just wondering when we're gonna be back home, we could just stay on tour we don't know yet if more stuff gets booked but yeah it's a little hard

What's the weirdest thing that's ever happened on tour?
Oh dude, oh wow, guy in one of the bands we were on tour with put a chicken wing in his butt.

What's the best thing that's ever happened on tour or at a show?
Kids coming to see us, and enjoying it

What's your favorite city that you've been to?
That's too tough, every city is different. Probably, I really like Boston.

What's one place you've never been but have always wanted to go to?
Just out of this country. We're going to UK this summer so we're gonna get to go. I've never been out of the country so I'm really excited for that.

What's one thing besides family and friends that you miss most about home when on the road?
My bed and my refrigerator filled with foods that I love.

Do you find it hard to keep in touch with friends while touring?
Yeah it's hard, because if you're not talking to somebody everyday you'll start to grow apart, it happens unless you're really really trying to keep something going it's not the same.

What was it like to sign with Fueled By Ramen?
It was amazing, we met with a lot of different labels, but when we met the owner John Janick he took us out to get food and we just felt an instant connection and we felt he could do a lot for us.

What advice would you give kids who want to start a band or get involved with music as a career?
Just practice, most importantly and don't try to rush things and just keep it classy all the time, be legit.

Who's the "mom" of the band?
There's not really, that's kind of our tour manager I guess, I'm kind of the dad.

Who's the most responsible of you guys?
I guess it would be me, definitely cause I'm always the one…just being the dad.

How do you eat your Oreos?
Dude, Oreos are my favorite things and I eat them with organic whole milk, and just the original Oreos no Double Stuff or anything.

What was high school like for you?
There were different phases, but overall I wasn't very popular and it was hard and then towards the end it was easier. I feel like I lost my ADD halfway through and I still actually have ADD with certain things, if I'm not into it usually I have ADD, oddly.

How do you guys feel about being compared to Paramore?
Uhhh, I mean it's cool, I mean Paramore's an awesome band, but we hear it every day it's like to us, it's kind of way past old, but still we still joke about it, it's not something to be so serious about. We feel like we have a unique sound and we're happy doing what we do so we don't let it bother us.

What movie best describes you?
Edward Scissorhands.

Who's your celebrity crush?

I have a girlfriend, so I gotta say Tom Cruise.

What color would a Smurf turn if you choked it?
Purple I'd suspect, just blue-er, purple.

Can we expect to see a full length from you guys soon?
End of the year, sooner than later I guess you can say. We're going to be writing all this year and full length at the end of the year.

The Fueled By Fans staff would like to thank Sierra, Blake, and Devin for taking the (rather large sum of) time to do this interview with us.
