Paramore was formed by front woman Hayley Williams, Josh Farro, Zac Farro and Jeremy Davis in 2004, with Jason Bynum on rhythm guitar. They took the name Paramore, which came from the maiden name of one of the group's former bassists during the time in which they were "still playing in the garage."
The first song Paramore ever wrote was "Conspiracy" which can be found on their debut album, "All We Know Is Falling." The album was released after they were signed to Fueled By Ramen in April 2005. Recording for All We Know is Falling had taken three weeks, and promotional material for the album had featured all but Davis, who left the band for 'personal reasons.' Before heading out on the road, they replaced Davis with John Hembree. Davis did return to Paramore, when asked to by the rest of the band. "Pressure" was Paramore first single off of their debut album, and the video was directed by Shane Drake, as was their next video, "Emergency." "All We Know" was also released as a single.
Paramore began recording their second album "Riot!" in January 2007, ending production in March. Hunter Lamb (who had also been their rhythm guitarist at the time) did not record this album because he got married, which required Josh Farro to play both guitar parts. Though Taylor York is was a temporary fill in when they toured. "Riot!" was realeased in June 2007. The first single from this album, "Misery Business" got Paramore much of their mainstream success. The second single was "Hallelujah," but is only avalible online and in the UK. "Crushcrushcrush" and "That's What You Get" were also released as singles.
The band released its third album, Brand New Eyes on September 29, 2009. They recieved the 2009 AP Reader's Poll award for best album of the year, a nod for best runner-up song of the year for "Ignorance", and singer Hayley Williams was voted best vocalist of the year.
